Location/Division Specific Information
This role is located in Austin, TX, within our dynamic Life Sciences Group. Join us in at Life Technologies Clinical Services Lab that is dedicated to patient testing, scientific excellence and innovation.

As a Biorepository Coordinator, you will have a meaningful role in advancing scientific research within the Clinical Sequencing Division. You will use your expertise in oncology specimen handling, management and testing. Your work will contribute to the future of health by helping customers find cures for cancer to treat millions of patients globally.
A day in the Life:
Manage physical sample inventory, ensure accurate handling and appropriate storage of the biospecimens such as FFPE blocks, slides, curls and plasma , in a BSL2 environment
Use inventory management software applications for sample traceability
Liaise with internal and external customers for sample procurements requests
Conduct DNA/RNA extraction, NGS library preparation, and sequencing.
Review biospecimen screening results

Follow best practices for sample handling and laboratory procedures.
Accurately follow protocols and recognize deviations.
Collaborate effectively to achieve pre-defined goals.
Prepare regular reports detailing sample procurement requests.
Education
Bachelors or Masters degree in Biological Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.
Experience
At least 2 years of laboratory experience in academic or industry settings.
Experience working in regulated environments.
Industrial experience in sample management.
Prior h istology experience such as microtomy and H&E staining preferred
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Strong organizational, communication and teamwork abilities.
Emphasis on attention to details
Strong theoretical understanding and hands-on laboratory skills.
Excellent documentation, writing, and presentation skills.
Nucleic acid isolation, PCR & RT-PCR skills and/or ne xt-generation technologies such as library prep and sequencing experieince are preferred
Physical Requirements / Work Environment
This role requires working in a laboratory environment, handling biological samples and operating various lab equipment. Strict adherence to safety protocols is essential.
