Job Description

The Converse Home, a well-established nonprofit assisted living community, is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounting Assistant to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong organizational skills and a passion for accuracy in accounting to support our mission of providing a warm, caring home for older adults. This is a flexible Hybrid position, 24-30 hours per week. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Submit bi-weekly payroll to PayData and review payroll reports to prepare journal entries.
• Process Medicaid billing and monthly submissions to long-term care insurance companies.
• Prepare and issue accounts payable checks for signature.
• Maintain resident petty cash activity.
• Document and reconcile rent checks, donations, and other payments in compliance with auditor. recommendations.
• Ensure resident financial records and administrative records are accurate for all accounts and prepare other monthly accrual entries.
• Generate monthly resident billing and perform receivables functions, including deposits.
• Submit and track employee/employer pension contributions each month.
• Ensure all financial records are maintained in compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years prior experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or a related field.
• Familiarity with payroll processing and Medicaid billing preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Experience with QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Office Suite.
• A team-oriented attitude and a desire to support the mission of our community.
